Meet Deb

hair stylist

Last year at this time in New York we were in the midst of a crisis in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.  There were individuals and businesses that stepped up and just served.  Some brought meals, clothing, diapers, blankets, school supplies and more. While it many not seem like much, to families affected by the storm, it was everything.

In the next few months, each home and business will be hit with a barrage of mail soliciting donations. There are so many great causes out there, all of them worthy.  That is why I appreciate businesses that give back. Most of them go unnoticed and yet there are countless stories of businesses that regularly use their strengths and resources to serve great causes.

Here’s one example, just yesterday New York Institute of Beauty and Long Island Beauty schools hosted a competition in make-up, hair and nails to support and raise money on behalf of Team Jack-Austin Speaks.  You can read the full story here.

There is something very special that happens when businesses and people pull together to help each other.  We shouldn’t need a hurricane or a mail drop to remind us that each of us can do something.

If you have a not-for-profit organization in the New York Metropolitan area, I donate back services each month to a worthy cause.  Reach out to me directly Deb@StrengthLeader.com .  Let’s all do our part to help!
