It is a compelling question:
Are You a “From” or a “For” Kind of Leader?
This was the title of a recent Corporate Solutions blog on JohnMaxwell.com, and it is compelling, indeed.
It is a tough question we as leaders must ask ourselves: Are we expecting things FROM our team, or are we focused on doing things FOR our team?
- Are we demanding or giving?
- Are we making their work harder or clearing obstacles to make it easier?
- Are we expecting that they have our backs, or are we making it clear that we have theirs?
- Are we dependent on them to help us grow, or are we invested in their growth?
“For” kinds of leaders are the kinds of leaders whose teams have their backs, help them grow, and yield high productivity, not because it’s demanded of them, but because they engender trust. And trust is bedrock.
Take a few minutes to explore these five tips for how you can move toward being a “For” leader.
