Contrary to popular belief, great leaders do not have all the answers. They do not know everything, as many would surmise. The one thing they do know is that they don’t know everything.
No one does.
But what makes them different is that they recognize the need to be continual learners.
Charlie “Tremendous” Jones said it well: “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”
So, dear leader, look around. Have you met any interesting people lately or read any good books? This might be a good time to assess how you will learn and grow in the new year. Who do you need to meet? Who knows something you need to learn? What books should you read? What opportunities are out there for you to increase your learning?
