Changing Team Dynamics and Outcomes

It is a defining life question: “What do you do best?”

Finding the answer and applying it virtually guarantees success. The fact is, if you find what you do best and simply do it, success finds YOU.

This is the core of what we do in working with individuals and teams.

As a leader, you have likely seen this in action.

You have a team that just syncs. They get things done. It seems effortless. They have passion about their work, and the end result exceeds expectations.

If you look deeper, you will likely find individuals who are vastly different from each other – each bringing different strengths to the table. But they also bring respect, a respect born of appreciation for the different gifts of each person on the team.

Maybe you have seen this in your workplace or elsewhere. But it is likely you may not be seeing it often enough.

You can fix that.

The fact is, there is a science to strengths-based teams – a measurable science. In our work with teams, we use the DISC profiling system to identify strengths. We then map out individual strengths onto a team map. This very often identifies gaps or reveals reasons for conflict. Whether you have a team with too much competition, too much analysis, too much “fun”, or too much of a slow pace, the end result is the same. The work does not get done.

But if you add in strategic measures of strengths, you can totally change the dynamic – and the outcome.

How do you spell “successful team”?

It’s really pretty simple…D-I-S-C.

Mix these strengths together and you have an amazing (and frankly, unstoppable) team.
