Meet Deb

GearlistTruth be told, I’ve never been camping per se, well at least not by most standards.

I have been out in the woods,

in a cabin, with the nearest starbucks 7 miles away.

That is close enough to camping for this New York girl but….

There is something absolutely charming about the thought of camping.

Nature

Freeedom

No alarm

But I do know enough about camping from folks that do camp to know that packing your gear is essential.

There can be extreme weather conditions.

Lack of adequate water.

Lack of a good food source.

If you plan on any physical activities you may need gear to fish, go rock climbing, and more.

All of this leads to what gear will be essential for the trip.   That is key…pack your gear.

What I find remarkable is that sometimes we put more thought into a family camping trip than we do the rest of our lives.

What gear do you need to navigate well?

As leaders, we need to think in these terms.

What gear do you need to have available to make the trip enjoyable and provide you with an opportunity to work with the conditions you encounter?

What gear can you NOT live without?

What about those you serve?
